President William Ruto has officially launched the NYOTA Project at the Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega County, an initiative designed to empower young entrepreneurs and promote business innovation across the country.

The project will benefit 110,000 youth through KSh 50,000 grants each, targeting 70 beneficiaries per ward in all 1,450 wards nationwide. The initiative aims to promote equity and inclusivity in access to business capital and skills development.

Speaking during the launch, President Ruto said the government is committed to supporting young people to become job creators rather than job seekers.

“The NYOTA Project is a promise fulfilled — to make every young person a stakeholder in Kenya’s prosperity,” he stated.

The Head of State noted that the programme will not only uplift small-scale entrepreneurs but also stimulate local economies by fostering innovation and productivity among youth-led enterprises.
