How George Yonge died
George, who had lived in America for more than 15 years, slipped into a coma last Thursday after returning home from work, and never woke up.
Family friend Imo Imonje told kenyanewsmedia.co.ke that the 35-year-old father from Maringo, Eastlands, had mentioned feeling unwell earlier in the week.
The situation took a drastic turn when he collapsed at home. He was placed on life support for about three days before passing away on Sunday night.
His death has left his wife, Sharon Miranda, and their young daughter, who turns one next month, grappling with a loss they never imagined would come so soon.
In a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook, Sharon poured out her grief, remembering her husband as her partner, confidant, and the love of her life.
“My heart aches in ways I never knew were possible. Nothing could have ever prepared me for the pain of these past few days,” she wrote.
Sharon mourns deceased husband
She thanked the now-deceased husband for the beautiful life they shared, adding that he wasn’t just her man, but her best friend, safe place, and everything.
“Thank you for making me a mum. You were the most wonderful dad, and I promise she will always know how deeply you loved her,” she added.
As the family prepares for burial plans, a GoFundMe page has been set to help them raise funds for the sendoff.
As Sharon navigates a future forever changed, she says her faith is the only thing giving her strength.
“I know you are now rejoicing in the presence of our Lord. Until we meet again, my love,” she wrote.
