A Journey of Faith, Resilience, and Gratitude

What began as a story of struggle has transformed into one of triumph for Braxton Kimwogit (Manazi), a graduate student at Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) from Emurua Dikirr Constituency, who has successfully completed his studies after years of hardship, resilience, and strong community support.

Braxton joined Kenya Methodist University in May 2017, eager to pursue higher education and achieve his dreams. However, his academic journey faced an early setback when financial challenges forced him to defer during his first year.

“It was one of the hardest moments of my life — watching my education come to a stop because I couldn’t afford to continue,” he recalled.

A turning point came in 2020, when Hon. Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr Constituency, stepped in to sponsor his education. The MP’s generosity opened a new door of opportunity for the young student, restoring hope and reigniting his academic journey.

His family, loyal friends, and generous neighbors also rallied behind him, organizing an impromptu fundraiser to help cover his expenses and ensure he could return to class.

Just as life seemed to regain balance, tragedy struck again. At around 2023 November, during his fourth year, Braxton was involved in a serious road accident that left him with a broken leg, forcing him to stay away from campus for a full year.

“The accident delayed my progress, but it never destroyed my dream,” Braxton said. “With faith and determination, I knew I would return and finish what I started.”

True to his word, he made a remarkable comeback in 2024, returning to campus to complete his final semester. This year, he proudly graduated — a moment that symbolized not only academic success but the victory of perseverance over adversity.

“This journey has taught me that faith and resilience can move mountains,” Braxton said after his graduation. “To Hon. Ngong Ngeno, I offer my heartfelt gratitude — your support changed my life. To my family, friends, and neighbors, thank you for walking this journey with me. Above all, to God be the glory.”

In a comment seen by Kenya News Media, Hon. Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara congratulated Braxton for his remarkable success, sharing an encouraging message that captured his joy and pride:

“Pongezi sana my friend. You have now been conferred the power to read and write all that pertains to your reading. Enda sasa dunia upambane. Wish you the best of luck,” Hon. Ngeno wrote.

The congratulatory message has since warmed the hearts of many online, with Kenyans praising both Braxton’s resilience and the MP’s mentorship and generosity.

Braxton’s story has since touched many within Emurua Dikirr and beyond. It stands as a powerful reminder that with determination, community support, and unwavering faith, no challenge is too great to overcome.

Braxton’s journey remains a shining example of how faith, community support, and determination can turn obstacles into stepping stones to success.
